The Basin is a wall hanging sculpture. It is made of steel and copper. It measures 43 x 23 x 5.75 inches. It has a naturally aged finish.

At times, our planet seems to achieve a measure of perfection; a stasis if you will. A condition in which great masses and great forces find balance and harmony. Quiet and beauty abound.

The human mind also has its moments; mathematics, philosophy, humanism. Great thoughts and understandings. These lead to great achievements. Among these, objects and events of beauty and importance.

Inevitably both natural perfection and human perfection face disruptive forces …

… This sculpture, a pure geometric form, "interrupted” by a huge gash, is a tangible representation of these thoughts … the near perfections of earth and of humankind, in the face of the powerful enemies of perfection.
