"PERFECTION IS ILLUSIVE ... At times, our planet seems to achieve a measure of perfection; a stasis if you will. A condition in which great masses and great forces find balance and harmony. Quiet and beauty abound.

The human mind also has its moments; mathematics, philosophy, humanism. Great thoughts and understandings. These lead to great achievements. Among these, objects and events of beauty and importance.

Inevitably both natural perfection and human perfection face disruptive forces.

My work is a visualization of the struggle; the near perfections of earth and of humankind, in the face of the powerful enemies of balance."

This sculpture, a pure geometric form, "interrupted” by a huge gash, which has weenened it, and brought it to near collapse, is a tangible representation of these thoughts … the near perfections of earth and of humankind, in the face of the powerful enemies of perfection.
