As I create sculpture exploring how humankind gets from here to there, I often think of "the final frontier" ... SPACE ! … Which I also think of as the fourth domain of human travel.

This sculpture is inspired by the simple, yet elegant styling of space craft designs from science fiction of my childhood years; the 1950's.

Understanding that escaping our atmosphere requires a smooth, sleek body, I have avoided the detailing and textures that are characteristic of other pieces in my "transported" group.

This rocket ship is made of pewter and brass and comes on the black marble base pictured.

The rocket ship is 8.25 inches high and 2 inches wide (at bottom). The base is 3.75 inches high and 4 x 4 inches at the bottom. Making the overall dimensions of the complete piece (rocket ship on it's base) 12 inches high x 4 inches x 4 inches.
