This framed sculpture is my re-imagining of the iconic ‘57 Chevy as a steampowered vehicle. It may be removed from it’s frame and worn as a brooch. This is a complex sculpture comprised of more than 50 individual pieces of metal, each piece hand made by the artist and then assembled. It has 3 moving parts; the door opens/closes, the steering wheel turns and the coal bin lid opens/closes (being "steampowered" a source of fuel is required, hence the coal bin.) The brooch measures 3 in long x 1 ¼ in high x ⅜ in deep. The frame measures 7 ¼ x 5 ¼ inches.
This piece is steampunk style raised to the level of fine art. It is signed on the back by the artist.
